Usher’s career, spanning over three decades, was celebrated by artists like Summer Walker, Tinashe, Marsha Ambrosius, and many more, highlighting the immense influence he’s had on the industry.

Performances and Feuds

The 2024 BET Awards featured a plethora of performances. Will Smith made a dramatic comeback with his new single “You Can Make It,” performed amidst a circle of fire. Megan Thee Stallion kept the energy high with her hit “Where Them Girls At”, and Victoria Monét wowed the audience with a high-energy set that included three costume changes.

Feuding artists Drake and Kendrick Lamar competed in multiple categories, including Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Best Collaboration. Killer Mike took home Album of the Year for “Michael,” using his acceptance speech to address his controversial arrest at the Grammys and encourage civic engagement. His powerful message underscored the evening’s theme of resilience and empowerment.
