THE PREQUEL

Disney has unveiled the first teaser trailer for “MUFASA : The Lion King”, a highly anticipated prequel to the 2019 photorealistic remake of “The Lion King”.

Scheduled for release on December 20, the film promises to unravel the early days of Mufasa, the revered king of the Pride Lands, in a tale of bravery, camaraderie, and destiny.

MUFASA: The Lion King” chronicles MUFASA’s journey, voiced by Aaron Pierre, from a young orphaned cub to his ascent as a noble and influential ruler. The narrative delves into his unlikely bond with Taka, voiced by Kelvin Harrison Jr., who later transforms into Scar, the infamous antagonist in “The Lion King”.

A Stellar Cast In MUFASA The Lion King

The film features a stellar ensemble cast, with both familiar and fresh voices breathing life into iconic characters. Tiffany Boone lends her voice to Sarabi, while Kagiso Lediga embodies a young Rafiki.

Preston Nyman voices Zazu, and Mads Mikkelsen portrays Kiros, a lion with grand aspirations for his pride.

Thandiwe Newton lends her voice as Taka’s mother, Eshe, and Lennie James embodies Taka’s father,

Obasi. Anika Noni Rose voices MUFASA’s mother, Afia, and Keith David brings MUFASA’s father, Masego, to the screen.

John Kani reprises his role as Rafiki, while Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner return as Pumbaa and Timon.

Donald Glover reprises his role as Simba, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter returns as Nala.
