The highly-awaited 96th Academy Awards nominations are out now, and the focus is on “Oppenheimer” and “Poor Things,” with them bagging a total of thirteen nominations apiece.

Hollywood is thrilled with the anticipation for another glamorous evening of ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATIONS for 2024, honoring major successes in the cinematography.

The announcement came with a measure of surprises and snubs most notably the omission of Greta Gerwig in the Best Director category for Barbie, and Margot Robbie, even though she produced this year’s best picture winner. Gosling, in response conveyed his disappointment saying, “To say that I am disappointed they are not in the Academy Award Nominations list in their categories is a massive understatement.”.

On the other hand, history was made when Lily Gladstone became the first Native American to earn a nomination for Best Actress in ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’. Her performance got several praises. America Ferrera also secured her spot as a Best Supporting Actress.

This year is no different than others where the Oscars go beyond Hollywood mega-hit movies. The Best International Feature category presents an intriguing variety with Italy, Japan, Spain, Germany and Britain making up the lineup.
