The 2024 BET Awards featured a plethora of performances. Will Smith made a dramatic comeback with his new single “You Can Make It,” performed amidst a circle of fire. The show also paid tribute to Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who was nominated for the YoungStars Award. Regina King, who won Best Actress, and SZA, who won Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, were both recognized despite not being in attendance.
Killer Mike took home Album of the Year for “Michael,” using his acceptance speech to address his controversial arrest at the Grammys and encourage civic engagement. His powerful message underscored the evening’s theme of resilience and empowerment.
