Known as 1TimePaymentHomes, the account provided Squatters with keys and lease of properties for a one-time payment that perpetuated impoverishment difficulties by undermining attempts to solve them.

Lawmakers supporting the Georgia Squatter Reform Act hope that the new law will offer significant protections to homeowners and communities, especially those that are negatively impacted by squatting. Besides, the bill seeks to revive security and order in the neighborhoods of Georgia through criminalizing squatting as well tightening legal loopholes.
