The Obama administration’s use of a double standard in favour of Hillary Clinton is documented in the Durham Report. Not surprising at all, however, it also demonstrates the particular double standard that Democrats and some Republicans have adopted. They in particular, had used these standards to discriminate against the last President Donald Trump.

Durham Report on FBI Stance

John Durham, Special Counsel for the United States Department of Justice

Regarding the double standard of the Clintons, John Henry Durham cites “highly significant intelligence” that was obtained “from a trusted foreign source” and “pointing to a Clinton campaign plan to vilify Trump by tying him to Vladimir Putin in order to divert attention from her own concerns relating to her use of a private email server.”. Subsequently, Durham draws the conclusion that, “Unlike the FBI’s opening up of a full investigation, of unknown members, of the Trump campaign, based on raw, uncorroborated information, however in this separate matter involving a purported Clinton campaign plan, the FBI never opened any type of inquiry, issued any taskings, employed any analytical personnel, or produced any analytical products in connection with the information.”

In spite of the lack of “any actual evidence of collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia, the FBI stance was appalling. The FBI applied a completely different standard to that campaign and launched a comprehensive criminal investigation. On Monday, John Durham, special counsel, released his eagerly anticipated report. This report mentioned, how American government investigators handled their inquiries into potential collaboration between Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russian attempts to meddle in the U.S. election. Durham was tasked with looking for legal violations, but he didn’t find many.

Durham Report and the Prosecution Appeal

Durham’s inquiry resulted in two unsuccessful prosecutions. Firstly, of Cybersecurity Attorney Michael Sussman and secondly of private Researcher Igor Danchenko. Both of the people he accused of lying to the FBI were found not guilty in court.

John Durham criticised the FBI for starting the inquiry without taking the customary safety measures. Additionally, he said the FBI neglected “any of the standard analytical tools typically employed by the FBI in evaluating raw intelligence,” such as “interviewing” pertinent witnesses, “reviewing its own intelligence databases,” and other customary procedures.

The Planned Predisposition and Hostility To Trump

The study also details the particular hostility for Trump that exists, at least among those people who are closely connected to the situation.”. As Durham puts it, there was “a predisposition to open an investigation into Trump.”

Moreover, the report stated, the Democrats were not the only ones who harboured this hatred. Many Republicans and independents agreed that Trump posed a special threat to national security and that, regardless of the evidence or lack thereof, everything that could be done to stop him from becoming president should be done.
