THE EVICTION AND FUTURE OF ENTERTAINMENT

The recent eviction of GolfSuites from Riverwalk Crossing in Jenks has raised questions about the future of the popular golf and Entertainment facility.

The eviction, initiated by OneFire Holding Company, a subsidiary of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, was the result of alleged breaches in the Lease Agreement, with OneFire claiming that GolfSuites owes at least $2 million in unpaid lease payments.

Disagreements Over Lease Terms : GolfSuites Vs OneFire

GolfSuites, however, contends that the eviction stems from disagreements over the maintenance of the artificial Turf on the Driving Range and other Issues with the Rental Agreement. The company had previously contested in court that OneFire was responsible for repairs to the Turf, which GolfSuites claimed was damaged prior to their lease.

Despite these disagreements, GolfSuites maintained its operations until the eviction.

Future Uncertainty

The eviction of GolfSuites has raised concerns about the future of the entire Riverwalk Crossing Shopping Center. Speculation abounds that the property may be demolished to make way for more lucrative developments, such as Condos.

The closure of GolfSuites is not the first at Riverwalk Crossing, with other businesses also shutting down recently, leading to questions about the viability of the Shopping Center as a Retail destination.

OneFire’s Plans Post GolfSuites Evictio

OneFire has not announced any plans for a successor to GolfSuites or for the future of the building. The Company has stated that it is evaluating its Options but has not provided further details.

The closure of GolfSuites, a popular destination at Riverwalk Crossing, has left a void in the Entertainment offerings of the Shopping Center.

Looking Ahead

Despite the eviction, GolfSuites CEO Jerry D. Ellenburg remains optimistic about the future. The Company is actively pursuing a new location in Tulsa, indicating that GolfSuites is not ready to call it quits just yet.

As developments continue to unfold, the fate of GolfSuites and the future of Riverwalk Crossing remain uncertain, leaving many to wonder what lies ahead for this once-thriving Shopping Center.
