Gypsy Rose: Then and Now - Reflecting on the evolution of Gypsy Rose, capturing her resilience through the years.
After Hurricane Katrina hit, Dee Dee and Gypsy Rose Blanchard moved to Aurora, Missouri. According to Dee Dee, Gypsy had lost her medical records due to flooding, leading her to devise a tale of medical issues for her child, including leukemia and muscular dystrophy.
The Blanchards were given a pink house by Habitat for Humanity that also contained accessible features for wheelchair users. It was built in Springfield, Missouri. Amidst her difficulties, Gypsy has received support from multiple sources, including the community, organizations, and even celebrities like Miranda Lambert, showcasing her strength of character and determination to overcome her challenges.
Still, Gypsy‘s former neurologist couldn’t find any evidence to prove Dee Dee’s claims about Gypsy‘s conditions in 2007. Another doctor in 2009 had suspicions that Munchausen syndrome by proxy might be the case.
Gypsy tried to flee but Dee Dee caught her. The punishment given to her was quite severe. Her mother not only ruined her things, she even restricted her from any external contact and kept her locked up in her own room.
Gypsy and Nicholas Godejohn made contact through a Christian dating app. Their relationship started out innocently with innocent declarations of love and gradually became more explicit, and it was a significant turning point in Gypsy‘s life.
The first time they saw each other was at the cinema in Springfield. The story of Gypsy and Godejohn is not very pretty and it leads to a disgusting end.
Gypsy controlled everything and ordered Godejohn to harm Dee Dee. After the killing which was done by Godejohn, followed a disturbing act of intimacy with Godejohn. Gypsy and Godejohn proceeded to his home in Wisconsin.
A Facebook post by Dee Dee’s friend suggested that she was dead which led the police to the whereabouts of Gypsy. Gypsy and Godejohn were arrested. She was not hurt and could walk on her own. Godejohn admitted for the murder of Dee Dee.
The legal team representing Gypsy decided not to employ an insanity defense strategy. Unfortunately, she chose to plead guilty to second-degree murder and didn’t go through a trial.
Even though Gypsy was in prison, she still had an amazing time. Unlike what people thought, she was able to find some liberty and started dating several guys inside the jail.
It’s so bizarre that Gypsy and Ryan Anderson got married while Gypsy was still in prison. She went through a lot at first but now she turned her life around to hopeful and successful.
Gypsy Rose is being released early after serving almost 85% of her 10-year sentence, which has been confirmed by the Missouri Department of Corrections. Plans for her post-prison life include attending a Kansas City Chiefs game with her husband and releasing an ebook titled “Released: A Discussion on the Night Before Liberty.“
