Vespiquen – The Evolved form of Combee

As a Pokemon GO trainer, you’re always on the lookout for powerful and rare Pokemon to add to your collection. One such Pokemon is Vespiquen, the evolved form of Combee. It might seem simple to get Vespiquen, but there are some essential things to know before you start.

Acquiring Vespiquen

The secret to acquiring Vespiquen is evolving a female Combee. While male ones cannot evolve, the female ones can transform into Vespiquen with just 50 Combee candies. To determine if you have a female Combee, just check its info page for the gender symbol next to its name and HP.

If you have a female one, you’ll see an “evolve” button, indicating that it’s ready to evolve into Vespiquen. Gathering 50 such candies shouldn’t be too difficult, especially if you’re actively catching Combee or setting it as your buddy Pokemon to earn candies.

Finding Combee in Pokemon GO

Combee can be found in several ways in Pokemon GO:

Wild Encounters: Combee has been spotted in the wild since January 2019. It’s more common in grassy and rural areas, so keep an eye out for it during your travels.

Egg Hatches: While Combee was available as a 7-km egg hatch during past events, it hasn’t been in recent egg pools. However, future events may bring it back.

Research Task Rewards: Combee often appears as a reward for completing different Research Tasks, especially during events that focus on Bug-type Pokemon.

Snapshot Photobomb Encounters: During the Bug Out event in 2022, Combee could appear as a photobomb after taking snapshots of Pokemon. While this feature hasn’t been seen since, it could return in future events.

Shiny Combee and Vespiquen

Both Combee and Vespiquen can be shiny in Pokemon GO. To get a shiny Vespiquen, you’ll need to find a female Shiny-Combee first, which can be challenging since the base shiny appearance rate is approximately 1 in 512. Certain events, like Bug Out, tend to boost Shiny-Combee appearances, making it a great time to shiny hunt.

Once you have a female Shiny-Combee , simply collect 50 candies for it and tap the Evolve button on its information page to evolve it into a shiny Vespiquen. If shiny hunting isn’t your style, trading for a Shiny-Combee or Vespiquen with another trainer is also an option.
