Charlotte FC took the lead in the 57th minute with a deflected goal from Brandt Bronico. The shot ricocheted off Karol Swiderski, finding its way past Miami’s goalkeeper, Drake Callender. This unexpected goal put Inter Miami on the back foot, igniting a much-needed urgency in their gameplay.

In the 67th minute, Messi found space just outside the box and unleashed a left-footed shot into the bottom corner, leveling the score at 1-1.
