PL Premiaer League Clash Arsenal Vs Manchester United
As one of the English Premier League 2022–23 match week 6 schedule, Manchester United will host rival Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday. On Saturday, there will also be a Merseyside Derby between Liverpool and Everton, which looks to be another intense match.
This season, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal have played nearly flawlessly, winning each of their five EPL games with ease. On Sunday, Martin Odegaard and company will bet on themselves for their sixth straight triumph.
But Arsenal won’t have it easy against Manchester United. The Red Devils have won three straight games and have been on the rise since losing their first two games under Erik ten Hag, the newly appointed manager.
The Man United defence, captained by Raphael Varane and newly acquired Lisandro Martinez, has displayed great resiliency in their last three games despite close victories, and is anticipated to present a difficult challenge for Arsenal’s attackers including Bukayo Saka.
On Sunday, Ten Hag might give Casemiro his first EPL start. After enabling the Spanish football juggernaut Real Madrid win 5 UEFA Champions League championships, the Brazilian joined Old Trafford this summer. After getting out of reserve against Leicester City and Southampton, he has displayed his mettle.
Anthony, a fellow Brazilian, is anticipated to begin the game on the bench. The forward followed Erik ten Hag from his previous club Ajax to Manchester and completed a high-profile transfer to Old Trafford on the final day of the season’s transfer window.
Anthony is anticipated to provide the United attack—which already includes stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Christian Eriksen—an additional edge.
Meanwhile, Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp will travel just a short distance to Goodison Park to play Merseyside rivals Everton.
The reigning champs Manchester City will go to the faltering Aston Villa this week after thrashing newbies Nottingham Forest 6-0 in midweek.
Ten Hag, manager of PL club Manchester United, considers this a test of United’s recent form. “I have seen Arsenal, a tough opponent. They’ve started well, as we all know,” Ten Hag said.
Arsenal with a brilliant start is the only team with a 100% win rate in the league so far.
Ten Hag’s United side has remained unchanged for United’s last two games.
Antony from Ajax has been signed for 82 million pounds ($94 million) by Manchester United. But Ten Hag has yet to decide whether the 22-year-old Brazil forward will debut for the team at Old Trafford this weekend. Ten Hag’s side has won three in a row, despite being initially defeated by Brighton and Brentford.
Jadon Sancho’s goal at Leicester has encouraged United’s team. They are are now determined to bounce back after last month’s shambolic 4-0 loss at Brentford.
Encouraged by the upturn in United’s form Ten Hag observed, “In the season you can see there’s a team who are longer together, with a coach who is bringing his philosophy in the team, so for us, it’s a good test.”
Ten Hag further added “I’m looking forward to it and we will pick the right XI to start. But as you see, it’s not only a team. We have a squad.”
“Also the subs who came on did well, so I’m happy with that and that is what we have to construct further.”
“I have seen some good stuff. It’s more than details but I see structures are coming,” he said.
“That is work on the training ground, that is work on the video and that is work in the games.
“It’s about formation, about getting and creating lines and then making the right decisions.
“But also the decisions on the ball and out of possession, we are making good steps, we have a base but there’s still a lot of room for improvement.”
The Red Devils have won just one of their last eight Premier League games against the Gunners and are hungry for a win at Old Trafford.
Arsenal will be looking to extend their winning streak, when they play against United in the PL on Sunday 4th Sep 2022.
Captain Martin Odegaard, was Injured while playing against Villa. He might miss this match against United, along with other players namely Oleksandr Zinchenko, Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny and Reiss Nelson.
That was a great game that Arsenal dominated for significant stretches of time. United, however, scored three fantastic goals in transition by being ruthless. After Bukayo Saka’s goal to tie the score, Marcus Rashford scored on two occasions to win the game. Debutant Antony had scored the game’s opening goal.
Christian Eriksen was outstanding in the middle and contributed significantly to each of the three goals. Even though United is still far from being a title contender, four straight victories is an outstanding response to the Brentford debacle. In stark contrast to previous season, the team spirit is excellent this year.
