With the Incoming Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino, preparing to join Twitter, NBCU names Mark Marshall as its interim head of ad sales.

Linda Yaccarino, who is eventually departing NBCU and has been chosen by Elon Musk to succeed him as CEO of Twitter, has been replaced as temporary Chairperson, Global Advertising and Partnerships, by Mark Marshall on the eve of NBCUniversal’s upfront presentation on Monday.

The Musk Announcement of Twitter CEO

Especially, at noon time, Musk tweeted that he had employed Yaccarino. She “will primarily concentrate on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology,” he said. Looking forward to working with Linda to make X, the all-encompassing app, out of this platform.

Musk has reportedly made an effort to address his income issues by appointing Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s CEO. Since Musk bought the company last autumn, there has been a known exodus of prominent corporations from the advertising market; they fled for fear of being associated with the new leader’s radical right-wing agenda. Ironically, Yaccarino herself spent years promoting this viewpoint as the chief advertising executive of NBCUniversal, which argues that social media platforms are too unstable for blue-chip businesses.

Yaccarino believes that user-generated content on social media poses advertisers a greater risk than network television. At the 2017, NBC upfronts presentation, she said, “Let’s be honest: Brand safety is a low bar, and some companies can’t even get that right.”. “Really, it’s about the loss of trust and the lack of discipline—from a massive large-cap firm. Regaining that trust will take a lot of time”.

The Memoir

“We appreciate Linda Yaccarino’s management of the NBCUniversal Advertising Sales division as well as the creative team and platform she has established. We wish Linda the best because she has given the organisation innumerable benefits throughout the course of her 12-year employment”, said Comcast President Mike Cavanagh.

Yaccarino issued a statement, “It has been an absolute honour to be a member of Comcast NBCUniversal and lead the most wonderful team. We have completely changed our business and the entire sector. I am extremely proud of what we have done as a team and am very appreciative of my coworkers and mentors, especially Brian Roberts, Mike Cavanagh, and the entire NBCU leadership team”.

Following Yaccarino from Turner Broadcasting System, Marshall joined NBCU in 2013. In 2018, NBCU advertising sales named him president.

Yaccarino had been preparing her presentation for Twitter even before officially accepting the position. At a prestigious marketing conference last month, she portrayed Musk as a supporter of free expression and claimed that he was actually making Twitter safer for advertisers.
