Tynamo, the electric EleFish Pokémon
Tynamo, is set to electrify trainers around the globe during the Pokémon GO July 2024 Community Day. On July 21, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time, this elusive Electric-type Pokémon from the Unova region will make a splash, appearing more frequently in the wild. For the fortunate trainers, there’s even a chance to encounter a Shiny Tynamo!
Event Bonuses and Features
This special electric EleFish Pokémon on Community Day comes packed with several exciting bonuses:
- Double Candy for catching Pokémon
- Double chance for Trainers Level 31 and above to receive Candy XL
- One-fourth Hatch Distance for Eggs placed in Incubators during the event
- Three-hour duration for both Lure Modules and Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense)
- One additional Special Trade per day, with trades requiring 50% less Stardust from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time
Trainers will also have the opportunity to evolve Eelektrik, Tynamo’s first evolution, into Eelektross during the event or up to five hours afterward. This evolution will grant Eelektross the powerful Fast Attack Volt Switch.
Exclusive Research and Raid Battles
Dive deeper into the Tynamo experience with a Community Day-exclusive Special Research story available for just $1.00. Additionally, Timed Research will be available from 2:00 to 10:00 p.m. local time, offering rewards like Unova Stones, which are necessary to evolve Eelektrik into Eelektross.
For those eager for more action, four-star Raid Battles featuring Eelektrik will take place from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. After a successful Raid, more electric EleFish will appear around the raid Gym for 30 minutes. Note that these raids are only accessible with Raid Passes and Premium Battle Passes, not Remote Raid Passes.
Tynamo in PvP and PvE
Tynamo’s final evolution, Eelektross, with the Fast Attack Volt Switch, brings a new dynamic to both PvP and PvE battles. In PvP, Volt Switch is an Electric-type Fast Attack that deals 12 (14.4 with STAB) damage every four turns and generates 16 energy. This move enhances Eelektross’s performance in the Great and Ultra Leagues, making it a more viable option, especially in 1-1 shield scenarios.
In PvE, Volt Switch has a base power of 14 and generates 21 energy, with a DPS stat of 8.75. Although it offers a slight improvement over Eelektross’s other Electric-type Fast Attack, Spark, it still doesn’t make Eelektross a top-tier PvE attacker.
